Taxi (Black Cab)
Fares are charged by the meter. This is a regulation of the area in which Freenow operates according to the TfL/regulations. The app provides an estimated fare, but the final fare is determined by the meter at the trip’s end, influenced by factors like:
- Route taken
- Traffic conditions
- Weather and road closures
You can enter the final fare in the app at the end of the trip.
Fixed Fares for Black Cabs
Fixed fares are only available for airport trips.
Note: Fixed fares cannot be adjusted once the trip starts, and payment is processed automatically at the end.
Ride (PHV)
The fare is fixed, meaning the base price remains unchanged. However, additional charges may apply, including:
- Service fee
- Cancellation fee
- Waiting fee
- Central London fee
- Airport fee
- Surge pricing
Fare Calculation Formula:
Final Fare = (Base Price + Price/km × Distance + Price/min × Duration) × Surge Factor
Note: Surge pricing applies only to the base fare and distance/time rates, not to additional fees.
