'Surge' occurs when there are more users requesting trips than available drivers. To address this heightened demand, prices 'surge,' incentivizing more drivers to enter the area.
Depending on demand, you can earn up to three times the normal fare during surge periods. Notably, surge pricing does not affect cancellation or waiting fees.
The fare is determined by the surge level at the pick-up location, not the location from which you accepted the trip. For instance, if you're in a 2.5x surge zone and the customer is ordering from a 2.2x surge zone, the fare will be multiplied by 2.2x.
Important!
Cancellation and waiting fees do not surge during high-demand periods.
- The cancellation fee will always be £5.
- Waiting Fees will always be charged at the standard rate of £0.25 per minute, for a maximum of 6 minutes after the free two minutes of waiting time has ended.
Please note, that you can't earn both cancellation & waiting fees on the same booking.
