We know it's a pain when your app plays up, and we're truly sorry for any inconvenience this is causing. Here's a simple, step-by-step guide to fixing the most common app wobbles:
1. Check you're on the latest app version
It sounds simple, but keeping your app up-to-date is the quickest way to squash pesky bugs.
- For Apple devices (iPhone), visit the App Store
- For Android devices, visit Google Play
If you don't have the newest version, please install it and restart your mobile phone.
If the problems hang around, no worries—let's keep going.
2. Clear data and give the app a fresh start
A good old clean and restart can work wonders to clear out any old data causing trouble.
- For Android users: before uninstalling, please clear the app's cache. You can do this by going to 'Settings' > 'Applications' > Freenow > 'Delete data/Cache/Cookies'.
- Please uninstall the Freenow driver app.
- Restart your mobile device, then reinstall the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Update your browser in your device’s Settings to ensure full app compatibility. For best performance, set Chrome as your default browser
-
Enable Required Permissions: make sure all necessary permissions are granted for the Freenow app: Settings > Apps > Freenow > Permissions. Enable the following:
Location → set to “Allow all the time” and enable “Precise location”
Notifications → allow to stay informed about trip updates
Mobile Data → ensure data access is enabled, especially if you’re not connected to Wi-Fi
💡Tip: restart your phone after updating settings to apply changes effectively.
3. Test your connection and signal
Sometimes the issue isn't the app itself, but your connection to the outside world.
- If you were using mobile data, please try connecting to a wi-fi network (your home connection is usually best) to rule out coverage issues.
- If you were on wi-fi, switch over to mobile data instead. This helps us check for any wobbles with your internet coverage.
4. Try logging in on another device
This one’s a bit of a clever trick. Logging in on a different phone, especially one with a different operating system, can help us figure out if there's a signal issue between your current device and our server.
Please try to log in to your Freenow account on another mobile device.
