What is the Smart Pension scheme?
In the United Kingdom, PHV drivers are legally classified as workers. As a result, eligible drivers are automatically enrolled in the Smart Pension scheme.
Why have I been automatically enrolled into the pension scheme?
Freenow is legally required to automatically enroll you into a workplace pension scheme if:
- You earn more than £192 per week (or £833 per month / £10,000 per year)
- You are aged 22 or over
- You are under the state pension age
Auto-enrolment rules encourage you to save for retirement by ensuring that if you’re enrolled, Freenow also makes contributions to your pension, boosting your savings.
How can I opt out or update my Smart Pension details?
Freenow is unable to opt you out of the scheme or make changes to your pension contributions on your behalf.
If you’d like to opt out or update your details, you can do so directly with Smart Pension. To access your account and manage your preferences, visit the Smart Pension member portal.
If you need support, you can contact Smart Pension’s Member Support team on 0333 666 2626.
Am I eligible for a refund if I opt out?
Yes. You are entitled to a full refund if you opt out of the pension scheme within the 30-day opt-out period, starting from the date of enrolment.
