We've found that some Android devices don't send location updates when the driver app is running in the background, for example, if you're using Waze or another navigation app.
This problem is due to the default "Battery saving" setting, which is prevalent on Xiaomi, Huawei, Redmi and Samsung.
To prevent this and have an optimal navigation experience, you need to disable the battery saving mode on your device - unfortunately, this cannot be done by making this change in the app.
Click on your device below and follow the instructions:
Samsung
- Drag down the menu bar
- Tap the settings cog in the top right corner
- Select 'Apps'
- Tap the 'Freenow' app > 'Battery'
- Tap 'Optimise battery usage'
- Tap 'All apps'
- Tap the toggle next to the 'Freenow' app
Xiaomi
- Tap 'Manage apps'
- Type 'Freenow' into the search bar
- Tap the 'Freenow Driver app'
- App info will open
- Scroll down until you see 'Battery saver' and click on it
- Select 'No restrictions'
