Our commission rate is set at 18% on the fare amount and includes the VAT that we pay. It doesn't apply to bonuses, tolls and airport parking fees.
The services of passengers picked up on the street who request payment via the app ('Hop-on') are not subject to commission.

What's changing?
From 14 September 2026, commission is increasing from 15% to 16.667% excluding VAT (or 18% to 20% including VAT).
Why is this changing?
This helps us keep Freenow running smoothly for the long run. It allows us to invest directly back into driver benefits, marketing to get you more trips and product improvements.
Does this apply to all fare types, or only metered fares?
This commission increase applies to all trips (app and cash payments), unless one of the other commission rates set out on this page applies.
Does this affect tips, quests or bonuses?
No. Tips, quests and bonuses remain 100% commission-free.
What about cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees stay exactly as they are.
Will this apply to all fare types and cities?
Yes, it applies to all trips (app and cash) across all our taxi cities:
