We require your vehicle's V5C Document or the E-logbook from your rental company.
If you have recently acquired your vehicle or the name and/or address on your Logbook do not match the name and/or address on your PHV, we will accept the completed New Keeper Slip/Confirmation of Registration (section 6 of your Logbook) for 2 months from the date of issue/sale or transfer.
V5C
The V5C is a document that shows who the registered keeper of a vehicle is and provides details used to determine if your vehicle is eligible for Electric Class.
- Old version: We require the 2nd page of the document

- New version: We require the 2nd and the 3rd page of the document
Requirements:
- (If vehicle is owned) Your personal details, the vehicle make, vehicle model and vehicle registration on the V5C Logbook must match the details on your Private Hire Vehicle Licence (PHVL), Private Hire Driving Licence (PCO) and your Freenow profile.
- (If vehicle is rented) The vehicle owner's name and address, vehicle make, vehicle model and vehicle registration on the V5C Logbook must match the details on your Private Hire Vehicle Licence (PHVL) and your Freenow profile.
- If you have the old version (see above) - submit the second page
- If you have the new version (see above) - submit the second and third page
E-logbook
If you rent your vehicle, you may be provided with an E-logbook rather than a V5C logbook. This is valid for 28 days.
Requirements:
The vehicle owner's name and address, vehicle make, vehicle model and vehicle registration on the E-logbook must match the details on your Private Hire Vehicle Licence (PHVL) and your Freenow profile.
New Keeper Slip (NKS)
- Old version - we can only validate “Section 10” which needs to be filled with the new keepers details and will be valid for one month for you to upload the new V5C.
- New version - we can only validate “Section 6” which must show the date of sale and will be valid for one month for you to upload the new V5C.
Confirmation of registration
Requirements if submitting a New Keepers Slip/Confirmation of Registration:
The vehicle owner's name and address, vehicle make, vehicle model and vehicle registration on the New Keepers Slip/Confirmation of Registration must match the details on your Private Hire Vehicle Licence (PHVL) and your Freenow profile.
New keepers slip must show the date of sale.
They are only valid for 1 month from the date of sale/registration.
Common reasons for rejection
Submitting an old or not the most recent logbook
Submitting only the one page of the new V5C version
Submitting an expired E-logbook (they are only valid for 28 days as written on the bottom)
Confirmation of registration older than 1 month
Submitting a New Keeper Slip which is older than 1 month from the date of sale
